  • 1 cup ice
  • 1/2 cup of spinach (optional and will turn it green)
  • Squeeze of honey

What You Do:

  1. Measure out your ingredients.
  2. Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth.  Add more ice if needed.
  3. Pour and serve.

Words to Use:

  • Fruit: something that grows on a plant, tree, or bush, can be eaten as a food, contains seeds or a stone, and is usually sweet.
  • Leaf: One of the flat green parts of a plant that are joined to its stem or branches.
  • Seed: A small hard object produced by plants, from which a new plant of the same kind grows.
  • Nutritious: Food that is nutritious is full of the natural substances that your body needs to stay healthy or to grow properly.

What to talk about:

  • Which ingredients are plants? How can you tell?
  • Take a close look at the strawberries. Can you find the seeds?
  • Where does honey come from?
  • How does the blender turn the ingredients into a yummy smoothie?
