Roasted Carrot Strips

Make a healthy snack and practice cooking skills with this healthy, tasty, easy treat.

What You Need: 

  • Carrots 
  • Olive oil 
  • Smoked paprika and/or cumin 
  • Baking sheet 
  • Aluminum foil 
  • Cooking spray 
  • Peeler 
  • Food brush 

What You Do: 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. 
  2. Cut the top and bottom off the carrots. Thinly slice lengthwise to form strips.  
  3. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray. 
  4. Place the carrots on a baking sheet being sure none of the strips overlap. 
  5. Lightly brush each carrot strip with olive oil on both sides and sprinkle with chosen spice. 
  6. Bake for about 20 minutes, flipping them halfway through. (You may need to roast longer than 20 minutes depending on the thickness of the strips).

  • Digestion: The process your intestines go through to get the nutrients out of the food you eat. Carrots aid in digestion. 
  • Immune System: The system in your body that helps to fight infections and other diseases. Carrots help boost your immune system.

The food we eat gives us energy and fuels our bodies to be active and keep us healthy and strong. The food we eat has different nutrients that support our body’s natural processes. Carrots can provide lots of health benefits like eye health, lowering cholesterol, boosting heart health, lowering blood pressure, and boosting immunity.
