All admission fees are subject to 7.25% NC sales tax. MasterMinds and Learning Labs fees are exempt from tax.

Please note that membership benefits are not valid toward group visits.

Availablity & Booking

• Daily field trip capacities are more limited than prior years. Reserve early to guarantee your preferred date.
• All groups must book in advance.
• The museum is closed Mondays during the school year and Tuesdays are designated as non-group days in the museum.
   

Chaperones

Marbles requires the following adult to child ratios:

• 1:8 for groups visiting the museum with children
• 1:10 for groups visiting IMAX with children
• Adults supervising groups must be over the age of 16 to count toward the required ratio. We cannot admit groups with fewer than the required number of adults.

Chaperone tickets:

• Marbles strongly suggests that schools include chaperones in their payment. Including chaperones in your payment means we reserve tickets for them and check-in is fast, getting you in to play as soon as possible.
• If you do not include your chaperones in your payment:
  • We cannot guarantee tickets to the museum or seats in IMAX for them.
  • They will be purchasing tickets alongside the general public and other groups and are subject to availability at the time that tickets go on sale to everyone.
  • New for 2022-23:  No tickets will be sold onsite. Chaperones paying for themselves are subject to the same rules and availability as general public. They will need to purchase tickets online in advance before coming to the museum or theater. 
• We invoice schools after the visit to make planning and payment easy.

Payment

• Schools are invoiced after the visit. We ask that you update your numbers the week before your visit to reflect the number of seats you will need.
• We ask that you do not bring checks as payment. We do not issue refunds if the amount on a check is incorrect.
• Schools are required to pay tax. North Carolina requires schools to pay sales tax on all purchases, even if you are eligible for a sales tax refund. Do not leave off the sales tax in processing your invoice payment.

Planning your Visit

• Minimum of 10 admissions is required to receive group pricing.
• Museum play is recommended for ages 10 and under. Organize your group by age for a better play experience.
• Many IMAX movies are great for all ages, while some are better suited for older kids and adults. We’re happy to help you choose the best option for your students. Check out educator resources and curriculum matches when picking your movie.
• For IMAX field trips, group concession packs of a box of popcorn and drink are a delicious treat to add to any movie experience. All group concession orders must be placed at least two weeks in advance of your visit. Please note that the concession stand is not guaranteed to be open. Groups are not allowed to order individually at the time of their visit.
• Remember to leave time to visit Marbles Corner Store for a wide selection of engaging and whimsical games and toys. Students must be supervised while visiting the store.

Health & safety

• Masks are now optional for all guests, staff and volunteers.
• Frequent hand-washing or use of hand sanitizer is encouraged. 
• Water bottle filling stations are open and drinking fountains are available.
