Summer camp at Marbles Kids Museum is a special learning adventure! Each week includes museum discovery, an IMAX film (for older campers) and countless opportunities to learn and explore, get active, have fun and be creative.

Half Day $115/week members; $130/week non-members Full Day $230/week members; $260/week non-members Extended Care $25/week for each am or pm care * Lunch supervision is included for full-day campers and available for an additional $25 per week for half-day campers. Campers must bring their own lunch. ** Extended care is available for ages 5 and older for $25 per week for each morning or afternoon care.

2010 Summer Camp DescriptionsAGES 3-4 Campers ages 3-4 must be potty trained (no pull-ups).
Silly Science | Science doesn’t have to be so serious—it can be silly too! Songs, books and hands-on experiences in our “do touch” environment introduce science in a fun and engaging way.
Kids Cook: Storybook Kitchen | Roll up your sleeves, put on your aprons, open a book and get cooking! Prepare tasty dishes inspired by favorite storybooks.
Backyard Explorers | Jump into our backyard and discover the great outdoors. Explore birds, plants, trees and other amazing things found just beyond your back door.
Kids Cook: Mix & Measure | Create yummy dishes and learn the basics of cooking in this popular camp. Test compatible flavors and discover curious combinations.
Helpers & Heroes | Discover how everyday heroes – firefighters, police officers, nurses, builders and farmers – work, live and help each other within a community.
Colorful World of Eric Carle | Favorites such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, Brown Bear and Polar Bear, Polar Bear come to life through art, music, movement, stories, cooking and games.

Kids Cook: Cook a Book | Feast on a fairytale! Enjoy cooking delicious dishes from the pages of your favorite books.
Body Detectives | Collect clues and investigate how the body’s systems work together to create one fabulous you – from the thump of your heart to the blink of your eyes, how your toes move and why we have wax in our ears.
Dance, Dance, Dance | Get ready to move to the music! Express yourself through ballet, jazz and hip hop. Play dance games and learn to tell a story through movement.
Wonder Lab | Grab your lab coat and discover amazing things about science around us through fun experiments, observations and exciting activities.
Sports Play | Get active and have fun while playing some of your favorite sports. Who’s winning? Doesn’t matter when you’re having tons of fun!
Seussicamp | Dr. Seuss is on the loose in this week full of silly stories and ringing rhymes. Hop into some of our favorite Dr. Seuss tales. Would you, could you…at camp?
Out Your Back Door | There’s a whole world to discover right beyond your back door. Venture out with us into the world of birds, plants, trees and the creatures that live in the great outdoors.
Kids Cook: Body Fuel | Create kid favorites that are healthy, delicious and designed to fuel the body for powerful play.
Go Green! | Create toys and crafts from recycled materials, harness the sun and get your hands dirty in the garden. Learn to take it easy on the earth while turning the town green.
Kids Cook: Everyone Eats… | Travel the world by cooking the food we have in common. Rice, noodles and bread cross borders and cultures; as you cook, you might be surprised how the same dish can taste so different.
Water, Water, Everywhere | Welcome to the world of water! This week is full of water play, water games, water art, water music and water everywhere.
Magic School Bus Science | Hop on the bus with Ms. Frizzle and the gang and take off on a science adventure! Jump into experiments galore and get ready to take chances, make mistakes and maybe even get a little messy.
Fairytales Alive | Enter the enchanted world of fairytales. Magical stories come to life as we cross into the land of make-believe through games, activities and crafts.
AGES 7-8
Science Sleuths | Can you really fry an egg on a hot sidewalk? Grow a watermelon in your stomach? Find out as we bust common kid myths through hands-on science fun. Is this a cool camp? Confirmed!
Fun, Unplugged | Get ready for a week of old fashioned fun. Play the unplugged classics then make your own homemade games and toys to take home.
Kids Cook: Passport to Flavor | Travel the world to experience the food of different cultures during this original and most popular Kids Cook Camp!
Agent Destination | Back by popular demand! Become an international secret agent at Marbles. With only a few clues, begin a weeklong chase to recover a special Marbles treasure. Travel the world and catch the dastardly criminals.
Inventor’s Workshop | Roll up your sleeves and put on your thinking cap – it’s time to invent the next big thing. Brainstorm, problem-solve and bring your ideas to life!
Far, Far Away | Venture to far-off lands through fiction and non-fiction books about our marvelous world. Use your imagination and flights of fancy to explore fascinating places both real and imaginary!
Abra-Kid-Abra | Amaze your friends and fool your family with the cool illusions, card tricks and sleight-of-hand techniques in this magical camp. There’s nothing up our sleeves except a thrilling week of hocus-pocus!
Kids Cook: Bakery Basics | A little flour, sugar, butter and eggs plus a lot of culinary creativity equals an oven full of fun. Baking is part art, part science and all-out delicious in this week of cookies, muffins, brownies and cakes.
Magic Tree House: Action Adventures | Sail the seas with Vikings, plunder with pirates and blast off with astronauts in this camp based on the books from the Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne.
Magic Tree House: Exploring Animals | Discover dinosaurs, play with primates, and run with rainforest critters in this camp based on the books from the Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne.
Act On It | It’s a week full of drama! Spark imagination and creativity through acting, set decoration and costume design as we take to the stage.
Who Done It? | Unravel a marbleous mystery like literary super-sleuths Encyclopedia Brown or Cam Jansen. Show your detective skills and examine the clues to solve the case!
AGES 9-10
Crime Lab Conundrums | Use science and street smarts to track down the criminals in this week full of evidence and investigation. Learn the techniques that real crime-solvers use to crack a case!
Kids Cook: Restaurant Star | Cook up a whole lot of fun and learn what it takes to open your very own restaurant. Choose a name, create the menu, design your table settings and cook items from your menu.
Kids, Inc. | Bank on your brain to start your own business. Enterprising entrepreneurs go beyond the lemonade stand to develop products and advertisements through cool crafts and activities.
Inventor’s Challenge | Put your best inventions to the test in this camp that lets you tap into your creative side. Bring your ideas to life through fun challenges and exciting team projects.
Kids Cook: Dinner’s On! | Take your culinary skills to the next level and cook a dinner from start to finish. Plan your meal, stock your pantry, time your dishes just right and then ring the dinner bell—it’s time to eat!
Diary of a Wimpy Camper | Join in laugh-out-loud shenanigans in this camp based on the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney. Create your very own non-diary to hold your cartoons and silly stories.
CityWorks | Imagination and teamwork is all we need to design the city of tomorrow. Dig in and build a city from the ground up through hands-on activities and fun projects.
Wizardry 101 | Explore the magical world of Harry Potter. Into which house will you be sorted? Create magical potions, write spells and play Marbles’ version of Quidditch.
Kids Cook: Out of the Box | Make delicious dishes from scratch by going back to the basics. Try favorites like macaroni and cheese and cupcakes the old-fashioned way and taste the difference!

Design Camp | Re-imagine the world around you through the lens of art and design in this popular camp with all-new designs! From the buildings above you to the shoes on your feet, someone has designed everything that you see. Unleash your creativity in a weeklong series of brand new art and design projects developed by Contemporary Art Museum and NC State College of Design.
Movie Maker | Calling all up-and-coming screenwriters, actors, directors and cinematographers! Armed with a camera and your own creative power, learn the basics of putting together a short film. Go behind the scenes of the IMAX Theatre and explore the world of film and movie making.
