Think big! Take an educational journey to IMAX.

Open your students' eyes with a giant-screen IMAX® experience at Marbles. In IMAX, students are immersed in larger-than-life super-sensory experiences that engage and excite them in learning. All IMAX documentary films also offer optional 45-minute Learning Labs that expand on lessons featured in the film.

 

If your field trip to Marbles includes an IMAX film, consider adding an IMAX Learning Lab to enhance your students' learning experience! IMAX films are ideal for grades K-8; Learning Labs are designed for grades 4-8.

Under the Sea 3D Film + Optional Learning Lab

Fall 2009 & Spring 2010

Under the Sea 3D transports students to some of the most exotic and isolated undersea locations on earth, including Southern Australia and New Guinea. Students experience face-to-face encounters with mysterious and stunning creatures of the sea in this uniquely inspirational and entertaining way to explore the impact of global climate change on our ocean wilderness.

 

In the accompanying Under the Sea 3D Learning Lab, students dive into an adventure as marine biologists to explore life under the sea.

Lewis & Clark: Great Journey West

Fall 2009 & Spring 2010

It was the dawn of a nation -- a time before the American West became known as the frontier, and little was known about what lay within. Two captains, courageous in spirit and unyielding in their dedication to their mission, led 31 people, including one woman and her infant son, to the Pacific Ocean and back. In Lewis & Clark: Great Journey West, Students will experience the danger and beauty of the unknown West as it unfolds before the eyes of Lewis and Clark.

 

In the corresponding Lewis & Clark Learning Lab, American history comes to life as students join the Corps of Discovery on a journey back in time to the uncharted west.

The Greatest Places Film + optional Learning Lab

Spring 2010

The Greatest Places takes students on a stunning educational journey to seven of the most geographically dynamic locations on Earth: The Amazon, Iguazu Falls, Greenland, Tibet, Madagascar, The Namib Desert and the Okavango Delta of Botswana.

 

In the accompanying Greatest Places Learning Lab, students embark as world travelers on a whirlwind adventure exploring the natural mysteries and varied terrains of these exotic locales.

Spring 2010

Arabia 3D reveals a unique culture, a history full of adventure, an environment of extreme challenges, a people of strong faith and a chance for a film to bridge cultures and reduce misunderstanding between peoples. In this epic combination of historical recreations and contemporary scenes of everyday life, students learn how Arabian society developed through history into what it is today, discovering a visually striking world of fascinating heritage.

 

In the accompanying Arabia 3D Learning Lab, student archeologists explore the dynamic cultures and challenging geography that have shaped Arabian society for generations.

Spring 2010 (opening in March)

Hubble 3D tells the story of the most important scientific instrument since Galileo and the greatest success in space since the Moon landing: the Hubble Space Telescope. Hubble has revealed our universe to us as never before. With Hubble's amazing treasure trove of imagery brought to life in IMAX 3D, students explore the grandeur of galaxies and nebulae, the birth and death of stars and the curiosities and mysteries of our celestial surroundings.

 

In the accompanying Hubble 3D Learning Lab, students become NASA scientists as they journey into outer space for a closer look at galaxies far, far away and a view of the world from an entirely new perspective.
